Oct. 13, 2004 CHICAGO--Replicating the offensive leadership that she has displayed all season, outside hitter Theresa Nugent guided the Lewis University women's volleyball team to a four-set victory over Saint Xavier Wednesday night. Nugent paced the Flyer attack with 16 kills as Lewis (12-8) topped the Cougars (7-22) 30-21, 27-30, 30-24, 30-6 in a non-conference match. Senior Megan Poludniak helped support the offense with a career-high 10 kills, while Sarah McKinney had a team-best 16 digs. McKinney also served for 17 consecutive points in game 4. The Flyers return to Great Lakes Valley Conference play this weekend as they travel to Bellarmine for a 7 p.m. match Oct. 15. |
