EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.--SIU Edwardsville dealt the Lewis University women's volleyball team a 3-0 loss with a 30-20, 30-11, 30-26 sweep of the Flyers. Lewis (7-5, 0-2 Great Lakes Valley Conference) dropped its second straight conference match and third overall with the loss. Offensively, the Flyers were limited to a .103 hitting percentage due largely in part to a struggling serve reception game. Lewis committed 10 receiving errors in the match and has combined for 30 receiving errors in its past three matches. Rory Harrison paced the team with 11 kills and a .310 hitting percentage, however she was one of just two Flyer players that posted a positive hitting percentage. Theresa Nugent tallied nine kills and a .207 hitting percentage. Defensively, Harrison had three blocks and Maggie Haen recorded 12 digs. SIUE (10-4, 2-0 GLVC) was led by Tina Talsma's 14 kills and four blocks. The Cougars held edges of .286-.103 in hitting percentage, 60-39 in digs and 7-5 in blocks. |
