KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Lewis' Amy Roberts went 5-for-7 in the Flyers' first two games of their spring trip as Lewis split in its opening day action at the Rebel Spring Games. Roberts went 4-for-4 with two singles, a triple and a homerun to help power Lewis (2-4) to a 6-0 victory over Great Lakes region foe Findlay. She hit a two-run homerun that highlighted a six-run second inning against the Oilers. Elaina Ktistou began the scoring in the second inning by dropping a single over the infield to bring home Amy Yusko and Christina Willis. Roberts followed with her home run, before Robin Martz continued the rally with a walk. Yusko picked up an easy RBI four batters later when she registered a bases loaded walk. Stacy Davis capped the rally with an RBI single through the left side of the infield. Carrie Paradzinski (2-1) recorded a near no-hitter in the win. Paradzinski surrendered just one hit, a lead-off double in the second inning, in the game. She struck out six and walked just one in her first shutout of the season. Game 2 of the day saw senior Mary Jaszczak shoulder a tough-luck 1-0 loss. Jaszczak (0-3) held Concordia-St. Paul to two hits, but the Flyer bats cooled following the 10-hit performance against Findlay. CSP's Vanessa DuFresne tripled in the top of the first inning and scored two batters later on Tracie Enzler's suicide squeeze. Lewis will face nationally-ranked Le Moyne and Lake Superior State on Monday, March 1. |
