Flyers Falter in First Half vs. Bellarmine

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Lewis University women's soccer team traveled to Bellarmine for its Great Lakes Valley Conference opener and lost to the Knights 4-0.

Bellarmine (5-2, 1-0 GLVC) scored four goals in the first half to stymie the Flyers (2-5, 0-1 GLVC).

The Knights's Jamie Halas tallied two unassisted goals in the first nine minutes, getting the team off to a quick start. Aubrey Luessen (25:00) and Marisa Larkin (43:00) scored Bellarmine's final two goals of the half.

Lewis' Lindsay Frederick held Bellarmine scoreless in the second half while recording six saves.

The Flyers will look to notch their first conference win of the season Sunday when they travel to Kentucky Wesleyan. Game time is 2:30 p.m.
