May 4, 2005 ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Lewis University men's golf team tied for seventh place at the eight-team NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional Championship that concluded Wednesday. Lewis, competing in the NCAA regional for a third consecutive season, posted rounds of 315-299-314 for a 54-hole total of 928 at the par-71, 6,582-yard St. Joseph Country Club. Senior Dean Katsaros led the Flyers in his final collegiate tournament. Katsaros, who had a hole-in-one in the opening round, carded rounds of 76-76-81 for a 233 total, good for 24th place among 45 individuals. Senior Jason Buffone and freshman Peter Schrum tied for 28th at 235. Buffone turned in rounds of 78-72-85, while Schrum shot 84-73-78. Senior Curt Trizzino (82-78-76=236) tied for 34th, and sophomore Lloyd Roth (79-82-79=240) placed 41st. |
