April 17, 2005 AUBURN, Ind. - Curt Trizzino carded an even-par 144 to lead the Lewis University men's golf team to an eighth-place tie at the Great Lakes Regional #3. Trizzino shot rounds of 73 and 71 at the par-72, 6,945-yard Deer Track Golf Club. The second-round 71 is the senior's collegiate career best. Also competing for the Flyers in the 89-player field were Jason Buffone, tied for 22nd (71-76=147); Peter Schrum, tied for 44th (74-78=152); Lloyd Roth, tied for 56th (78-76=154); and Dean Katsaros, tied for 69th (78-79=157). The Flyers posted team scores of 296 and 301 for a 597 total, 24 shots behind champion Wayne State (Mich.). Lewis is awaiting a possible invitation to the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional Championship scheduled for May 2-4 in St. Joseph, Mo. |
