March 28, 2004 COLUMBUS, Ind. - Rob Peters fired a season-best 2-under-par 70 to win medallist honors and lead the Lewis University men's golf team to an impressive 13-stroke victory at the Parkside Invitational. The one-round tournament consisted of seven Great Lakes Valley Conference teams playing at Otter Creek Golf Course, site of the 2004 GLVC Championship scheduled for April 12-13. Peters was the only player under par. Teammate Jason Buffone shot even-par 72 and finished second, while Tres Steffey tied for third at 73. Also competing for the Flyers were Lloyd Roth, tied for 15th (77), and Ryan Hewson, 42nd (85). Lewis carded a season-low 292, 13 shots better than runner-up Southern Indiana (305). Northern Kentucky was third (307), followed by Wisconsin-Parkside (308), Indianapolis (310), Saint Joseph's (311) and Missouri-St. Louis (312). |
