NORMAL, Ill. - The Lewis University men's golf team placed 15th among 15 teams, a field that included 13 NCAA Division I squads, at Illinois State University's D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate Sept. 14-15. The Flyers shot rounds of 319, 304 and 301 for a 924 total on the ISU Golf Course. Jason Buffone, who shot 75-77-72=224 at the 54-hole event, led Lewis and tied for 34th among 83 golfers. Also competing for the Flyers were Tres Steffey, tied for 53rd (81-76-73=230); Rob Peters, tied for 66th (83-74-79=236); Lloyd Roth, tied for 78th (80-83-77=240); and Dennis McLain, 81st (86-77-80=243). Illinois State shot 853 to win the tournament. |
