RENNSELAER, Ind. - Jason Buffone fired an even-par 70 Friday to lead the Lewis University men's golf team to third place among 10 teams at the Saint Joseph's College Puma Invitational. Buffone tied for third place in the 69-player field, finishing two strokes behind medallist Chris Tilbury of Bethel (Ind.). Bethel shot 288 to win the team title, with Saint Joseph's second at 289 and Lewis third at 294. Dennis McLain shot 73 and tied for 10th, while Dean Katsaros carded a 75 and tied for 18th. Lloyd Roth (76, tied for 22nd) and Rob Peters (78, tied for 34th) rounded out the Lewis lineup. Three Flyers competed independently. Tres Steffey tied for eighth (72), Ryan Hewson tied for 56th (86) and Kevin Lind tied for 63rd (92). Lewis travels to Southeast Missouri State Sept. 8-9. |
