Joe Steinkamp works with the Lewis University men's basketball team as a volunteer assistant coach.

Steinkamp served as assistant varsity and head junior-varsity men's basketball coach at Central College last season. He was a women's basketball graduate assistant coach during the 2003-04 campaign at Loras College, where he completed work on a master's degree in administration of athletics in 2005.

A 2003 Central graduate with a bachelor's degree in exercise science, Steinkamp played basketball for the Dutch and was a co-captain and the Gary Dirksen Achievement Award recipient his senior year. He earned two varsity letters and was named 2000-01 junior-varsity Most Valuable Player.

Steinkamp and wife Leslie reside in Plainfield.
