March 3, 2005 The Lewis University baseball team dropped two decisions on Wednesday, losing 12-8 to NCAA Division I St. Bonaventure and 8-6 to Mercyhurst. The Flyers collected 13 hits against St. Bonaventure (3-0), the defending Atlantic-10 Conference champion, but six errors helped lead to the Flyers' downfall. Andy Radak had three hits including a double, and Phil Marchinski and Brandon Niewinski each had two hits to pace the Lewis offense. The Flyers exploded for all six of their runs in the second inning against Mercyhurst, with Jim Gabriel's two-RBI double the key hit. But the Lakers (2-5) responded with four runs in the third and completed their comeback later in the game. Lewis (0-6) outhit Mercyhurst 15-10. |
