Swimming Teams Steadily Improve at Bulldog Invitational

Nov. 8, 2003

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Lewis University swimming teams competed at the Bulldog Invitational hosted by Truman State November 7-8.

Since it was only the Flyers' second meet of the season, the meet served as part of the team's building phase.

Michael Lapustin recorded the Flyers' highest individual finish by placing second in the 100 backstroke (54.47). Josh Rogers was another top finisher, placing third in the 50 freestyle (22.42).

For the women, Michelle Sliva placed seventh in the 100 butterfly (1:02.12) and Tristine Schmidt was seventh in the 1650 freestyle (18:58.96).

Lewis will host its first home meet of the year Friday, November 14. The Flyers will swim against NCAA Division I Valparaiso in a dual meet that begins at 5 p.m.
